On July 8, after a long and gracious life filled with loving generosity, much laughter and adventure, June left this world for her new journey. Born in Seattle August 20, 1926, she graduated from West Seattle High School in 1944 and began work at Associated Grocers where she retired as a financial manager after 44 years. In 1947 she married Robert Schomburg in West Seattle and later they welcomed two daughters, Jeanne and Roberta. Bob predeceased her in 1963 and in 1985 she married Bill Espe of Burien, happily welcoming stepchildren Bill, Lezlie, Brian, Sandra & families into her life.

June loved her trips to the ocean, annual trips to Hawaii with Bill, golf, humming birds, beautiful flowers, solitaire and a good cold martini! Sending home fresh baked cookies or a small gift with departing guests, sending and receiving birthday cards & phone calls were important to her. She was truly an elegant lady who prized good manners, integrity and honor in all things. Above all she loved celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family and friends. Her thoughtful ways and generosity toward others made it easy to love June. The gift of her presence in our lives will be deeply missed. Predeceased by Bill in 2015, she is survived by her children and stepchildren, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; her brother Cecil Van Nostram of Redmond, several nieces and nephews and best friend of 53 years, Annette Otis.

A celebration of June’s life will be held Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 2:00pm at Forest Lawn, 6701 30th Ave SW, Seattle.
