Pearl Louise Rogers (nee Honeychurch) passed away on May 22, 2017. Pearl was born in Butte, Montana on December 8, 1928. During the depression, Pearl and her family moved to Seattle and Pearl graduated from Cleveland High School. She then met a young marine named Raleigh Earl Rogers while he was stationed at Sand Point Naval Air Station and they fell in love. Pearl and Raleigh were married on Saint Patrick’s Day in 1948 and moved to the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle where they started a family. Pearl was an avid seamstress for much of her life, making her children (and herself) clothing and sewing clothing for her large collection of dolls. She and Raleigh were also enthusiastic square dancers and she loved making elaborate and beautiful dresses to wear to her and Raleigh’s nights out cutting a rug. They danced beautifully together, and besides square dancing, they also did swing, waltzes, and a favorite of Pearl, polkas.

Peal loved fishing and camping with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a great lover of animals, especially dogs and cats but also the birds and squirrels that she never failed to feed at her home in Burien.

Pearl was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and was always willing to lend her everyone a helping hand. She will truly be missed by all of her family and friends.

Pearl is survived by her son Robert; daughter Susette; grandchildren Liam, Crystal, Alena, Aaron, Ryan and Megan; great-grandchildren Ashley, Emma, Ryan, Sky and Raleigh; and great-great grandchild Caden. A Service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery on June 16, 2017 at 1:00 PM.
